1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or using Trail Shorts (the “Service”, available at trailshorts.xyz), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Trail Shorts is a browser-based visualization platform that converts GPS activity tracks (including GPX files and fitness tracking streams) into 3D animated video shorts and 2D social media stat cards.

The Service processes activity track data locally in your browser using client-side technologies (WebGL, Canvas, WebAssembly, and IndexedDB).

3. User Content & Intellectual Property

3.1 Your Ownership

You retain full ownership, title, and copyright in any GPX files, workout streams, photos, and text you upload or input into the Service. You also own all video and image exports generated by you using the Service.

3.2 Platform Intellectual Property

The software code, user interface, brand assets, logos, design templates, and visual layouts of Trail Shorts are protected by copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the platform without prior written authorization.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

When using Trail Shorts, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose.
  • Upload malicious files, viruses, corrupted GPX files, or harmful scripts.
  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with security features or client-side guardrails.
  • Overburden, spam, or disrupt the network infrastructure of the Service or its third-party map providers.

5. Third-Party Services & Map Data

The Service integrates with third-party providers including Mapbox for map tiles, 3D terrain elevation models, and satellite imagery. Your use of maps is also subject to Mapbox's Terms of Service and End User License Agreements.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

“AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”: THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE AT ALL TIMES.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Trail Shorts and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms at any time. When changes occur, we will update the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after any update constitutes your agreement to the new Terms.
